Healthy Churches Plant Healthy Churches
What is the Church Life Team
Consider this question: is your church healthy?
Is your church really healthy?
How do you measure the health of your church?
Is it by attendance? Budget? Attractiveness? Quality of Facilities?
Unfortunately, many of us pastors have used inaccurate measures of a healthy church. We pursue programs, events, and budgets that "healthy" churches are supposed to do; oftentimes trying to model the success of another church or pastor. Deep down we know that this is not what Jesus had in mind for his Church.
I'm sure you're a fan of delcious peaches (who isn't?). Consider a peach tree. When determining if the tree is a healthy tree, we don't limit it to how much fruit is on the tree or how big the peaches are. We take into account the quality of the fruit, would we want to use the seed of this tree to grow another peach tree, is it producing peaches or apples?
A tree needs some help at times. A planter that can determine that the tree has all the nutrients it needs to not just survive, but thrive. Sometimes a peach tree needs some outside assistance to get it healthy and producing quality fruit again after a major crisis or slow deterioration. Maybe it just needs to start fresh.
Whatever state a church is in: new plant, established, or in decline, it's good to have friends to lean on.
Your HBN Church Life team is here for you. Even healthy churches often need to revitalize from time to time to stay healthy.
